Like many parts of the former Soviet military, the base has seen its funding slashed since the Soviet Union disintegrated in 1991. Antonov An-148 The Antonov An-148 (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-148) Antonov Design Bureau from Kiev, Ukraine, is a regional jet aircraft designed by the Ukrainian Antonov Design Bureau and produced by Ukraine's Kiev Aviation Plant AVIANT. Antonov has also outsourced production to Russia's Voronezh Aircraft Production Association. Development of the plane was started in the 1990s, and the maiden flight took place on 17 December 2004. The plane completed its certification programme on 26 February 2007. The An-148 has a maximum range of 2,100--4,400 kilometers and is able to carry 68--99 passengers, depending on the configuration. The An-158 is a stretched fuselage version of the aircraft for 99 passengers. The beginning of the An-148 project dates to the early 1990s, when the design work of the An-74-68 passenger aircraft was started at the Ukrainian Antonov Design Bureau. In 2001, the plane was renamed to An-148. The development team, headed by P.V. Balabuev, used the An-74TK-300 transport aircraft as a starting point. Its fuselage was extended and the new plane's wing design was created from scratch. The developers decided to use the Motor Sich D-436-148 engines. The An-148 is manufactured by the Ukrainian Kiev Aviation Plant AVIANT and Russia's Voronezh Aircraft Production Association (VASO). Many companies are involved in the project; however, at least 70% of the aircraft's hardware is made by Russian producers.[6] Due to its technical parameters the An-148 has become popular on the regional passenger airliner market. The An-148's list price is about $24--30 million.[7] The main problem with the project has been increasing the plane's sluggish production rate. The AVIANT plant in Kiev initially failed to respond to growing orders leading to VASO's growing involvement in the plane's assembly.[7] In 2002, the production of the first 3 prototypes was begun at Kiev Aviation Plant AVIANT. On 17 November 2004, the first prototype completed it maiden flight. Second prototype joined the testing programme in April 2005.[8] During the certification programme, the two prototypes performed about 600 flights in total.[9] On 26 February 2007 the aircraft, its D-436-148 engine and the AI-450-МS auxiliary power unit were certified by the Interstate Aviation Committee of Russia (AR MAK) and the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine. On 28 June 2009, the first serially produced An-148, manufactured at Voronezh Aircraft Production Association in Voronezh took to the skies.[8] Polet Airlines An-148-100E at Sheremetyevo Airport on 10 October 2011. In April 2005, the An-148, received its first order from Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC) leasing company and the airline company Krasair signed a lease agreement for 10 aircraft with an option on 5 units valued at $270 million.[10] Other variants with Western-made engines with thrust of 6000 -- 8000 kgf (such as the General Electric CF34 or Rolls-Royce BR700) are being considered.[11] On 2 June 2009, the first An-148 entered commercial service at the Ukrainian carrier Aerosvit. The first passenger flight was from Kharkov to Kiev; the plane had the civilian registration UR-NTA.[13] By November 2009, Aerosvit was operating the An-148 on the Kiev--Odessa and Simferopol--Lviv routes, performing two flights a day with the average flight time of 4--5 hours.[7] On 21 December 2009, the An-148 was put into service in Russia with Rossiya airline. The first passenger flight was FV135 from Pulkovo Airport in Sankt Petersburg to Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow.[8] By 20 May 2010, Rossiya's An-148 fleet had accumulated a total of 915 flight hours and performed 710 landings.[14] Rossiya complained that the aircraft experienced some reliability problems.[15] There were some technical problems with the plane, and pilot training could not be ramped up fast enough, leading to pilot shortages.[14] However, by 2011 the situation had clearly improved.[16] On 15 February 2010, the An-148 started international flights to Poland with the Aerosvit airline.[17] The Russian ambassador in Bolivia, Leonid Golubev and the Government of Evo Morales are negotiating the acquisition of one plane of this type for the use as the presidential carrier and other 8 for the state-owned airlines: Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) and Transporte Aéreo Militar (TAM). An-148-100A - main version of the An-148. It has a passenger capacity of 75 in a one-class standard configuration or 68 in a two-class configuration and a range of 2,100 kilometres (1,300 mi); An-148-100B - extended range version up to 3,500 kilometres (2,200 mi); An-148-100E - extended range version up to 4,400 kilometres (2,700 mi) and a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 43.7 tonnes; An-158 at Farnborough Air Show in 2010 An-168 - business variant, seating between 8 and 40 passengers, with a range up to 7000 km;[23] An-178 - cargo variant, with a payload capacity of up to 25 tons http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-148

The announcement was made during Poroshenko's visit to the Ivchenko-Progress engine design bureau located in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaparozhe. This facility is also co-located with one of the largest aero-engine assembly sites in all of the former Soviet Union: the Motor Sich production plant. Ukrainian aeronautical design teams have already produced what has been described as a "sketch outline" of a platform for a new fighter, which has been given the program name of Legkiy Boiviy Litak, which is Ukrainian for "Lightweight Combat Aircraft" and abbreviated as LBL. The aircraft is supposed to bear a strong resemblance to the Soviet-designed Mikoyan MiG-29 in its external appearance, but the aircraft's on-board systems will be of non-Russian origin. One of the main differences between this new Ukrainian design and the original MiG-29 will be its engines and electronics. Reports from Poroshenko's visit to the Ivchenko facility stated that the two engines would be "a design based on the AI-322F and the avionics would be of both Western and Ukrainian manufacture". The engine design appears to be one of the main drivers for this concept, with the Ukrainian president stating, "We will soon be able to create our own aircraft engine for the fighter." Poroshenko also pointed out that Ukraine is among a small group of just five nations in the world that are capable of independently developing aero-engine designs. =================================================== DISCLAIMER: Information, Facts or Opinion expressed in this Video are Presented as Sources and do not reflects views of INDIA TUBE and hence INDIA TUBE is not liable or responsible for the same. T/I: 10:37:51 Anyone who has ever dreamed of darting across the sky in a slick jet fighter can now fulfill the desire in Ukraine, where the International Fighter Pilots' Academy offers the chance to take to the sky. Neither a pilot's licence nor flying experience is required to swoop through the stratosphere in one of the world's most powerful and nimble aircraft -- the respected Soviet MiG-29 jet fighter. The planes, which belong to the Ukrainian Air Force, are located at the "Kirovskoe" base on the Crimean peninsula. Like many parts of the former Soviet military, the base has seen its funding slashed since the Soviet Union disintegrated in 1991. A year ago, Commander Thomas Orsos established a joint venture between the impoverished Air Force base and his Hungarian school. Would-be pilots enroll in the academy for a week or so, where they receive fast but intensive instructions about flight safety, gravity suits and the dynamics of flight. Then they take to the air, along with a trained pilot. Russian/Nat Russian officials have opened a criminal investigation in Moscow after a private passenger jet crashed seconds after take off on Thursday at one of the Russian capital's main airports, killing all nine people aboard. Among the victims were a top Russian oil magnate and one of the country's leading journalists. Crash investigators now examining the aircraft's flight recorders want to find out if there were any violations of safety rules. So far foul play has not been ruled out. The medium range Soviet-era plane was on a charter flight from Moscow to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, when it crashed shortly after take-off. The plane rose to an altitude of about 150 feet, then plunged to the ground just beyond the end of the runway. Officials said there was no indication of what caused the crash. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "The flight from Moscow to Kiev had 9 people on board. Literally a few seconds after lifting off from the ground it lost altitude and crashed next to the runway and was destroyed. Unfortunately all nine people on board died." SUPER CAPTION: Yevgeny Potapov, deputy chief of direction of Russian prosecutor's office Officials at the Russian prosecutor's office later confirmed that a criminal investigation had been opened into the crash. The victims of the ill-fated flight from Sheremetyevo airport included prominent Russian journalist Artyom Borovik -- head of the 'Sovershenno Sekretno' ('Top Secret') media group -- whose newspapers and T-V programmes specialised in crime exposes. Borovik, 38, was also a frequent contributor to news broadcasts about Russia by U-S television network A-B-C. Also on board was a leading Russian oil magnate, Ziya Bazhayev, head of the Alliance oil management group. Russian media reports say Borovik, whose reports often aroused anger and controversy, had received several threats on his life in the past. The tragedy left the bodies of the five crew and four passengers scattered among the wreckage of the Yak-40 plane on the snowy runway. Soon after rescue workers began the arduous task of removing the bodies. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "At the moment we are still using rescue equipment. Unfortunately, at this time, we still haven't managed to retrieve all the bodies, because it's very difficult to get to the bodies and we're using special tools of the emergency situations ministry. They are cutting open (the wreckage) and pulling out (the bodies)." SUPER CAPTION: Aleksandr Murzin, Moscow transport prosecutor's office The airport was closed for two hours immediately after the crash and incoming planes diverted to other airports. The Antonov An-225 Mriya is a strategic airlift cargo aircraft that was designed by the Soviet Union's Antonov Design Bureau in the 1980s. The An-225's name, Mriya means "Dream" in Ukrainian. It is powered by six turbofan engines and is the longest and heaviest airplane ever built with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes. It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service. A second airframe was partially built; its completion was halted because of lack of funding and interest. The Antonov An-225, originally developed specifically to transport the Buran spaceplane , was an enlargement of the successful Antonov An-124 . The airlifter holds the absolute world records for an airlifted single item payload of 189,980 kilograms (418,834 pounds), and an airlifted total payload of 253,820 kilograms (559,577 pounds). It has also transported a payload of 247,000 kilograms (545,000 pounds) on a commercial flight.

On Friday July 10th 2015 the Air Clips Team has joined a flight of Ukraine Air Alliance's 1968-built Antonov 12 freighter UR-CAH from Luxemburg Findel to Las Palmas airport, Gran Canaria (Spain). Flight UKL 4075 took off at 12:57 hrs local time and almost seven hours later it touched down at 18:34 hrs LPA local time. The airplane was chartered by DB Schenker, the world's leading specialist for logistics to include special air cargo. The mission was to bring one huge piece of oilwell equipment to the Canary Islands, where it was desperately needed. The single pipe (1001 x 99 x 99 cms and 10.100 kg weight) arrived on a scheduled Cargolux B747F flight from the United States the same morning and in the absence of suitable scheduled cargo flights, the Antonov was exclusively chartered for the last part of the journey. The Antonov An-12 (NATO reporting name: Cub) is a four-engined turboprop transport aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. It is the military version of the Antonov An-10 and was made in many variants. The first prototype flew in December 1957. Over 900 had been built, in both military and civilian versions, before production finally ended in 1973. The An-12BP entered Soviet military service in 1959. In terms of configuration, size and capability, the aircraft is similar to the United States-built Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Military Soviet and former-Soviet examples have a defensive tail gun turret. In the 1960s China purchased several An-12 aircraft from the Soviet Union, along with a license to assemble the aircraft locally. However, due to the Sino-Soviet split, the Soviet Union withdrew its technical assistance. It was not until 1974 that the first Chinese-assembled An-12 had its maiden flight. The Xi'an Aircraft Company and Xi'an Aircraft Design Institute worked to reverse-engineer the An-12 for local production. In 1981, the Chinese copy version of the An-12, designated Y-8, entered production. Since then the Y-8 has become one of China's most popular military and civilian transport/cargo aircraft, with many variants produced and exported. A Tu-16/H-6 bomber navigator cockpit design was chosen for Y-8 instead of the original An-12 shorter navigator cockpit design, as the H-6 bomber had been in serial production for some time. Although the An-12 is no longer made in Russia or Ukraine, the Y-8 continues to be upgraded and produced in China. The latest Y8-F600 is a joint venture between Shaanxi Aircraft Company, Antonov Aeronautical Scientific-Technical Complex (ASTC), and Pratt & Whitney Canada. The Y8-F600 has a redesigned fuselage, western avionics, PW150B turboprop engines with an R-408 propeller system, and a two-crew glass cockpit. It is unknown whether the Shaanxi Y-8 remains in production, yet many believe it will remain in production for the foreseeable future. The here seen An-12BK has an increased 30-tonne (66,140 lb) payload, improved avionics suite, TG-16M APU and the widened cargo door of the An-12BP characterized the An-12BK, which was built exclusively for the VTA (Komandovaniye voyenno-transportnoy aviatsii), a major component of the Soviet Air Force. Ukraine Air Alliance is an airline based in Kiev, Ukraine. It operates cargo and passenger charters as well as services to Asia, Africa and Europe. Its main bases are Boryspil International Airport (KBP) and Zhulyany International Airport (IEV). The airline was established on 28 February 1992 and started operations in 1993. It registered with the Ukrainian authorities as a joint stock company and was one of the first private air enterprises in Ukraine to obtain international status through registration at ICAO. The airline has taken part in UN relief flights. The Ukraine Air Alliance fleet includes the following aircraft (at January 2015): 6 x AN-12 - Registration UR-CGV, UR-CGW, UR-CAJ, UR-CAK, UR-CZZ, UR-CAH DB Schenker is a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG that focuses on logistics. The company, created by reorganisation and rebranding of Deutsche Bahn subsidiaries, comprises a logistics division encompassing air, land, and sea freight, and a rail division made up from European rail freight companies. Since December 2007 DB Schenker has been the freight logistics subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. DB Schenker combines all transport and logistic activities of Deutsche Bahn (DB Schenker rail and DB Schenker logistics) employing over 94,600 staff spread across about 2,000 locations in about 130 countries and now is the biggest freight operator in the UK after buying out English Welsh and Scottish Railway (EWS). From 1 January 2009 the logistics operations of DB-Schenker, Railion, EWS, and Transfesa were combined under the brand "DB Schenker".

State Flight Academy Of Ukraine http://studyinukrainetoday.com/state-flight-academy-ukraine " The Academy is considered to be one of the best international flight schools and is the unique component of the national education in Ukraine." First FlightIts history began more than 50 years ago. The 60th Military Aviation Flight College was created in Kirovograd in 1951 and prepared the flight crews for Soviet Army Military Air Forces till1960. In connection with the decision of Soviet Government concerning USSR Military Forces reduction, the College was transformed into the Kirovograd Civil Aviation High School. Kirovograd Civil Aviation High Flight School carried out training of aviation personnel for Aeroflot and aviation companies all around the world from 1960 till 1978. First Flight CrewIn the 60th the new aviation hardware, jet and turboprop aircraft were introduced into Civil Aviation. This fact complicated the process of air traffic and raised the demands to aviation staff. It became necessary to create the civil aviation higher education establishments. Beginning from 1978, on the base of Kirovograd Civil Aviation High Flight School the Kirovograd Civil Aviation High Flight College started functioning. The technical and training base and aviation staff high education programs were improved. In 1993 by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the College got the status of the State Flight Academy of Ukraine. So, the high quality of training at the Academy is based on the great experience and many years' traditions. KirovogradDuring the period of its operation Academy prepared more than 110 thousand of aviation personnel, including more than 4 thousand specialists for 66 countries of the world. We are proud that our graduates work on all main lands of the Earth (except Australia) and hold different posts. Among them are pilots, air traffic controllers, heads of the services, flight crews and detachments captains, chiefs of the departments, air companies and flight complexes directors. Besides, our graduates are heads of aviation services in Mongolia, Bulgaria, Moldova and several African countries. For the high quality training of Cuba Republic specialists the Academy was awarded with the Cuban order "De la SOLIDARIDAD", and for the great contribution into high-qualified personnel training for Ukrainian aviation it got the silver medal of International Academic rating "Golden Fortune". In 2000 the State Flight Academy joined the UN program TRAINAIR (civil aviation personnel training international program), also it became the member of Innovation Centre of International Educational Programmes "INCOS". The activity of the State Flight Academy of Ukraine is certified by International Aviation Committee (CIS), got the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the 4th level of accreditation. Flight School InternationalAt present the Academy provides training on the following specialities: Aircraft Flight operation (commercial pilot for single engine aircraft, commercial pilot for multi engine aircraft), Aircraft Production, Technical Maintenance and Repair (technical diagnostic and non-destructive methods of monitoring, flight engineer), Air Traffic Servicing (air traffic controller, air navigation information and flight planning officer, computer flight servicing officer, emergency servicing and flight safety officer). The State Flight Academy of Ukraine went through many difficulties of living in the new economic formation and now is both the only one flight education establishment in Ukraine and world level centre of 21st century aviation personnel training. kirovograd flight academy of the national aviation university, kirovograd flight academy of ukraine, kirovograd state flight academy of ukraine, kirovograd flight academy, kirovograd flight academy national aviation university, kirovograd state flight academy of ukraine, study cpl in ukraine, study ppl in ukraine, Kirovograd Flight Academy, Study in Kirovograd Flight Academy, study commercial pilot in ukraine, study private pilot in ukraine, study flying in ukraine, become a pilot in ukraine,

The plane that can detach its entire CABIN in the event of an emergency: Concept can 'drop' passengers to safety using built-in parachutes Parachutes attached to roof and rubber tubes inflate on bottom of cabin Storage space holds passengers' luggage underneath the cabin Previous design has a capsule released from plane's back Engineers have revealed a radical new way to save plane passengers in the event of an emergency. The design shows an aircraft with a detachable cabin that releases in emergency situations. During take-off, landing or flight, the redesigned cabin detaches from the plane and safely lands on the ground or water– saving everyone's lives on board. Surviving in a plane crash is possible,' Vladimir Tatarenko, aviation engineer, told LiveLeak. 'While aircraft engineers all over the world are trying to make planes safer, they can do nothing about the human factor.' Tatarenko is that mastermind behind the design and has been working on this project for the past three years, according to Independent. Parachutes are attached to the roof of the cabin that are instantly released when the cabin is detached from the plane. There are also rubber tubes that inflate to cushion the impact to the ground or water, and the inflatable devices seem strong enough to keep the cabin afloat. 'The existing technology of using of Kevlar and carbon composites for fuselage, wings, flaps, spoilers, ailerons, tail will be used during the design,' Tatarenko explained. 'It allows to partly compensate the weight of parachute system.' The design includes a storage space that holds passengers' luggage underneath the cabin, so there won't be any lost luggage during the flight if it has to detach. Independent explained viewers of the demonstration video have mixed reactions to the innovation. Some are all for the cutting-edge design, while others are skeptical and feel it's impractical. A few reservations pertain to the potential impact on the rest of the plane, the possibility of the detached cabin smashing into mountains or buildings and the escape plan for the pilots. One person commented: 'Of the millions of flights a year, less than 500 people die worldwide a year from plane crashes.' 'Seems not terribly cost effective' While another had concerns too: 'This whole concept dramatically weakens the airframe because now you have joints and fittings to connect a fuselage and a body together where once you had a whole fuselage to reinforce the airframe.' However, a questionnaire conducted by the inventor found that 95% of people would be willing to buy a more expensive ticket in order to use such a safety system. This isn't the first design the Ukrainian engineer has produced. Last year, Tatarenko received patents for an invention with an escape capsule system that would rescue passengers on board. The capsule would be released within seconds of the emergency situation and through a rear hatch at the tail end of the plane. Once ejected, two gunpowder engines will take control to slow down the speed and then a parachute will pop out. But, according to Tatarenko, it could not save lives if the plane explodes inside or comes under a rocket attack.
